Mac Johnson, a major force in the snack-food world and a produce marketing icon, passed away on Sunday, December 12th in Newnan, Georgia due to complications from cancer. He was 74 years old. Mac Johnson Mac joined Category Partners as CEO, at its founding in 2008. He spent the better part of a decade working and growing with clients and retailers, investing his time, knowledge, and experience to create a powerful team, who will deeply miss him. Mac ended his distinguished career at Category Partners in 2017, retiring to the Atlanta area to be closer to his family and to spend more time on the golf course than in the board room. James Harry Johnston, son of Frederick Johnston (Belfast, N. Ireland) and Virginia Massey Pifer (Berryville, VA) passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and quiet strength. Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara G. Brooks; his loving sister, Linda A. White; and his cherished daughters, Nicole J. Schutt (Scott) and Jamie J. McKinney (Jay). Affectionately known as “Grumpa,” Jim was a treasured grandfather to Zachary, Taylor, Carter, Riley, and Mason, who brought him boundless joy and pride.

We lost a phenomenal man when Andrew Adler Lasser, PhD, died peacefully in his home on February 13, 2023. He was an accomplished and proud man, although people he met would never know it. With his smiling eyes, warm heart and love of life, most folks just enjoyed being around him. He was a kind and gentle soul completely dedicated to his wife Kay, who he called "beauty," his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
