On Thursday, March 9, 2006, Janice Dick Joyce, born Janice Lee Hopkins died. She was beloved wife of Philip H. Joyce, mother of Perry J. Dick, III, & Elizabeth Dick Rogers, stepmother of Michael P., Patrick J., Timothy J. and Thomas D. Joyce. Janice was sister of the late Daniel Hopkins; grandmother of Amelia C. Dick, and Elliot J. Rogers. She is also survived by nine step grandchildren, mother-in-law of Tara G. Dick and Timothy T. Rogers, sister-in-law of Jane Dick Burton and Rae Burton, Diane and Cliff Rowe, Virginia and Victor Joyce, David Joyce, Margaret Ann and Fred Valentino, and the late Robert G. Hecht. Aunt of Jennifer J. Howe, Jessica H. O'Brien, Katherine H. Fitzgerald, Ashley S. Hecht, Megan R. Pitcairn, Abigail R. Ploeger, Rebecca R. Taimuty, and Clifford R. Rowe, III, and the late David G. Hecht. Janice received a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from LaRoche College and a Masters Degree in nursing from Duquesne University. She worked as a Psychiatric and Geriatric nurse at Allegheny Neuro Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. In recent years Janice selflessly served the homeless as Medical Director of the Jubilee Kitchen. She was a member of the Peoria Tribe of Indians in Oklahoma.
