2005-01-24On Thursday, January 5th 2023, Douglas Lints, Jr. of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away, lovingly surrounded by family and friends. He was seventy-five. Douglas was a beloved father and grandfather. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Sr. and Helene Lints. Douglas served in the US Army from nineteen sixty-eight to nineteen seventy-two. During that time, he dutifully served his country while completing a tour in Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged. Douglas is survived by his two brothers, Rick (Ann) and Tom (Claudia); his three children, Jordan Lints (Lauren), Jessica Lee (Roger) and Scott Lints. Douglas was adored by his five grandchildren, Breyton, Colton and Brielle Lee, Marlee and Fisher Lints. Douglas was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and loved football. This led to a lifelong devotion to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Douglas also loved NASCAR, always rooting for his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. Douglas loved spending time with his family, coaching softball and soccer, and watching his favorite TV show, Jeopardy. From his 2023 obit
tribute by Ron AyersI got to know Jim's whole family and spent a fair amount of time at their house. "Yuri" was one of the good ones. I also visited Jim and his wife in North Carolina when I came home from Viet Nam and was traveling around the country readjusting to "the world". It is hard to think of our classmates leaving us at so early an age. As Cindy said, we need to appreciate the relationships we have and make the most of them every day.
