Sandi Adamson

1977-12-30

Sandra (Sandi) Adamson (Steele) died in 1977. She attended Ohio University, where she was one of a number of USC classmates at the time. She was in a sorority at OU and later studied dental hygiene at Pitt. She sailed as part of the medical staff on the hospital ship operated by Project HOPE in the 1970's that visited numerous foreign ports. She returned to the U.S. and married a nice guy (Michael Steele, died 2022) from Ohio. Sandi had a lovely daughter (Heather Steele Dougherty) who was three years old when her mother died at age 30. We met through a shared interest in music - she sang in most USC choral groups, was a good dancer, and had a huge collection of 45's. She was born and raised in Dormont/MtLebanon/USC neighborhood. Her dad, Dr. Jack Adamson, was a Pittsburgh dentist for 39 years and used to fit the USC team with mouth guards !
