42 years have gone by since we graduated from highschool

so you can bet we don't look the same as we did back in the 60's...

Some of us have more pounds, or less hair, and some...
actually look better than they did at USC.

This page will remind everyone of what we looked like back then and the way we look now,
as well as update us on what we are doing in this stage of our lives.

"Click"
on  ADD YOUR INFO below and enter your correct information and your "now" photo. ( You can e-mail us your "now" photo and we will upload it for you, if you like )

We will enter your "then" (senior) photo after you submit your information. Should appear on the website within one to two days. (Please make sure your info and comments are correct...once submitted, can only be changed through us)  Any questions please contact: usc65reunion@comcast.net

From Kathy Holden and Doug:
After college, we moved to Seattle (Doug's hometown) and lived there until we moved to Florida in 1984. We have three kids - Jeff, Kristen, and Brian. Brian is the only one married - he and Christy live in Gainesville, FL where she is finishing her degree in design and he is with Nationwide Insurance. Jeff and Kristen live near us, as do both of my sisters and my mom. Jeff works with Doug, and Kristen works at the local college. We celebrated our 40th anniversary this year. It doesn't seem that long... Doug is still in the lighting and appliance business. I have worked at various stores and a bank and in June of 2005, my dream became a reality. We opened a boutique called Kate's- Retail Therapy for Girly Girls. It's been an interesting adventure and we've learned a lot! Doug usually introduces himself as the M&M man around the shop. That's maintenance and money. We have an adorable Bichon Frise as the shop dog and official greeter. DJ, the dog, thinks the ladies just come to visit with him. Some days, I think he's right !

I can see that you've all taken a much more mature, serious approach to the entries on this website than I originally did. So I'll try to conform. I've now been happily married to Kathy, who I met at PSU, for 34 years. We have two beautiful and accomplished daughters, ages 22 and 14. Career wise, I've worked for a number of well known corporations of some notoriety, including TYCO, Adelphia, Arthur Anderson, Worldcom, Ahold, and Enron. In addition to the many creative business practices I picked up along the way, I also earned an MBA a few years back. I still try to keep in touch with my former colleagues, but based on where many of them are living now, it's not all that easy. It's been much easier to keep in touch with my many acquaintances at the SEC. Presently I'm working on a new venture. As it turns out, Mary, my youngest, is quite an athlete. I've been very busy coaching her regionally-ranked, travel soccer team for the past eight years. This involvement in youth soccer has evolved into my new business, that as the exclusive distributor to the under-20 youth market for BALCO, a San Francisco based manufacturer of performance enhancing drugs and nutritional supplements for athletes. BALCO has a definite presence in the professional baseball and track markets, but the youth market is virtually unexploited. Having observed first hand the unquenchable desire many parents have to win at all costs, I believe that there is a big potential in getting these kids "on the juice". It should be a real breakthrough opportunity.

From Adria:
So, let's see. What did I do for the last 41 years? Good grief. how could it be 41 years? I went to Pitt, got married, graduated in three years and began a temporary job with the State as a caseworker. I helped found a coop in Oakland, fought against oppression and war and for a better world. We relocated to New Jersey when my husband was accepted to Princeton for graduate work, transferred to Bucks County still with the state, and became a social worker doing drug counseling, emergency intervention and early childhood health care among other things. We lived communally, farmed organically and were active politically. I eventually divorced the first husband, remarried a talented artist/woodworker, had a daughter who has been a challenge and a joy, and after 30 years, retired from my temporary job. Since then, I have been working with my husband in his woodworking, building, stained glass, pottery, business, which consists of him and me. We built two houses together and a lot of other things, rehabbed a house in Phila, got our daughter through high school and now, through college with a lot of ups and downs. We live on 9.5 acres in the woods in one of the houses that we built and watch the deer, racoons, foxes and other critters from our beautiful deck. I continue to work with enthusiasm and optimism for causes that I hope will change the world and allow our children and grandchildren to live in peace and security. What a long, strange trip it's been!

From Doug:
My life has been a wild and crazy magic carpet ride. I've served a couple of tours in the Air Force (active during Viet Nam, reserve during Desert Storm as a flight medic), and have enjoyed several careers - education and industrial health and safety, while serving part time as a firefighter/EMT for my county. We "ran away from home" (Atens, GA) a few years ago to be closer to the beach, but atleast one set of kids has since tracked us down and moved here as well. I'm currently at Bryan County High School (West of Savannah, GA) working with severely handicapped high school students; I'm also involved in coaching 3 sports and serve as Sports Medicine director. I'm blessed to be married to my best friend and lover for 34 years, and to have been lucky enough to have served on the '96 Olympic medical staff (soccer) and to have a state championship football ring. My favorite things include surf, sun, sand, sails, the ocean, and being one half of Grammy and Poppy to two very active and wonderful boys. I won't be able to make the reunion since I'm up to my eyeballs in work, but send my fondest regards to everyone.

My life is still full of work. I was CEO of my firm for about 5 years until late "04 - then I turned it over to someone else and focused on Board of Directors Consulting. Our daughter is 29 now and lives nearby and my wife Carol and I built our dream home and are trying to travel more and take vacations. I am starting to think about career #3 in another year or two to change pace and priorities and create more free time. We have definitely reached the age where our friends and family are more important than all of the other hard work.

Maybe it was Cheryl Hawkins who contacted me awhile ago to participate in this internet directory. At the time, I didn't see much point because I had just returned from a summer AFS program, moved into a new house, and spent just senior year at Upper St. Clair (my parents did continue to live in Deerfield - on Quail Hill Drive - for thirty-five years). Gwen Gauthier was a friend, so that was sad news. Jim is in energy, so we have moved a lot. We lived near Zurich for two years, back to Murrysville, then to Boston (11 years), to Potomac, MD (eight years), Tampa and now Kettering, OH. While we were in Boston, and our youngest son was in kindergarten, I went back to get an M.Ed.; then taught at Fay School in Southborough, MA for three years. When we moved to the D.C. area, I started over, getting to know the NAIS schools and eventually got a job at the one I wanted, Norwood. Christopher, who is on he verge of becoming engaged, lives on Russian Hill in San Francisco and works for an educational software company. He is thirty. Jonathan is working for Corporate Executive Board on H Street in DC. He is 24. For those who warned me against going to Allegheny College (I did meet Jim there), I transferred sophomore year to Carnegie Mellon, which I loved. Best wishes - so many of you look familiar and I thought I blocked that whole year.

I have a solo law practice in Bonita Springs, Florida - between Naples and Ft. Myers. I was transferred from Pittsburgh to Florida in the mid 80's by Westinghouse Electric Corporation and was assigned to Westinghouse Communities, Inc. (WCI). WCI has since sold to private investors and has gone on to become a huge land development company with projects through out the U.S. I left WCI in the mid-90's and am very happy with my small practice. Since my wife passed away in 2004, I've unfortunately become a work-a-holic and too "hermit-like" for my own good. I'm looking forward to getting away to Pittsburgh and seeing you all in August.

I am writing this in Anchorage, where I’m on a layover while “working” as a Frontier Airlines flight attendant. What a great job, especially after 30-some years working for the Federal government. The photo shows me with the youngest two of my five kids. The blonde, our Colorado “surprise” kid, just turned 13. My wife Cathy works in a library and likes to surprise us with books she knows we’d like. She and I met while acting together in a Shakespeare production in Ohio, lo these many years ago. I appreciate all the work that went into planning the reunion and am looking forward to catching up with classmates. Ask me about “vintage base ball”. Life is great and getting better all the time.
